History
The fig tree is native to the Mediterranean region and has been cultivated for over 5,000 years, making it one of the first plants cultivated by humans.
Today, figs are very popular in European cuisine, used in both sweet and savory dishes, as well as in the production of dried figs, especially in countries like Spain. Barley fig is an important crop in the province of Zamora (one of the most widely grown crops in the region).
Ingredients
- Fig leaf
- Figs
- Caramel barley
- Chocolate barley
Tasting notes
The fig leaves give us a slightly smoky and very fruity flavor with their distinctive coconut aroma, while the figs are dried to create a delicious “dolceamaro” whose flavor may resemble honey and walnuts.
We add slightly bitter notes of toasted caramel and coffee with a blend of roasted barley, and everything is carbonated for a fresh, syrupy, and fruity drink.
Uses
It’s more than a soft drink; it’s a cocktail in itself. Prepare it with ice and a slice of lemon, or as a cocktail with 35ml of:
- "Tanino Óxido" distillate by Angelita.
- "Jara de Monte" distillate by Angelita.
- Ron or Whisky.
