History
The sticky rockrose (Jara pringosa) typically appears in areas with recurring fires where the climate species do not regenerate. It is native to the Mediterranean basin, especially in Spain, where it grows alongside holm oaks.
In the summer of 2022, two major wildfires occurred in the Sierra de la Culebra, marking the two largest fires in the history of the region, and two of the most devastating in Spain since records began.
The combined affected perimeter of both fires covered an area of nearly 66,000 hectares.

48% of this natural space was consumed by the flames during the two fires, within a little over a month.

Tasting notes
Is spicy, vegetal, and has animal notes (the leaves of rockrose produce a fragrant oleoresin known as labdanum, which is used in perfumery to fix fragrances and recreate notes of incense and leather).
Uses
It is a distillate with the character of an Italian amaro: bitter and vegetal. It is like a walk through the Zamoran mountains of the Sierra de la Culebra.
